Peace Kids takes place during our Sunday morning worship services, providing children with their own worship experience through song, story, and review activities. There are two phases: one for Young Fives through first grade, and the second for second grade through fourth grade.
Children who would like to participate in Peace Kids, need to be checked in at the Ark prior to service. Your children have the unique opportunity to participate in a worship set designed specifically for them. Children begin together in room 207 at the start of the service and then break off into small groups by age. Finally, they come back together at the end of the service for a fun activity and parent pick up.
what to expect
Our church as a whole, but specifically Peace Kids, uses the model set forth in Deuteronomy 6: “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you wake up.”
We believe the family is the primary instructor for your children, but as a church, it is our responsibility to support you in that role. Therefore, we offer a family devotional for each week’s lesson, in hopes that you will take some time to review the lesson with your children so they will learn it from you at home as well. These lessons are available at the Ark each week.
Events you should know about
Nursery and Peace Kids are partnering with Compassion International in their Barnyard Project, where every dollar is given towards a farm animal for a sponsored child’s family. We would love to be able to raise $790 to provide an entire barnyard! This would include a cow, pig, goat, and chicken. The project was launched this past weekend and they will be collecting offerings through the last Sunday of the year, December 29.
