Welcome to Peace Church Nursery. Our nurseries are a place where we hope to make children feel safe and loved. Nursery is available during Sunday morning services, the Sunday School hour, Sunday evening programming and special churchwide events.
We know that leaving your child in the nursery for the first time can be overwhelming and we want to help make it as easy as possible for you. Below you will find any information you will need to bring your child to the nursery.
WHEN YOU BRING YOUR CHILD TO NURSERY
There is a nursery check-in desk where you will first come to check your child in. Please make sure to specify any health concerns or allergies to the front desk worker. Snack is served during Nursery, and we want to make sure everyone stays safe if they have a food allergy.
Our Nursery uses First Look curriculum and is focused on providing the message of God’s love to every child who enters our nurseries. While your child is in Nursery they will hear a lesson that stems from this philosophy, “God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my forever friend.” It is our prayer that every child leaves knowing that they are made in God’s image and that they are loved. Activity sheets will be going home with the toddlers and parent pages are always available to encourage the lessons to continue at home.
The check-in process begins prior to the start of service. The first time you come, we will put your household information into our system via an iPad. This system will print a child tag and a parent identification number that matches only your child(ren) to prevent any safety issues. Keep this parent tag safe because you will need it for pick-up.
Protecting the children in our care is our first priority. We ask that when you return to pick your child up you bring your parent tag to verify which child is yours. Only authorized parents, guardians, or approved adults are allowed to check children out. Siblings under 18 will not be allowed to check a child out of nursery. You must have your parent tag on your person at the time of pick up.
Our nursery is staffed by many different volunteers. Each one has gone through a training class and had background checks to ensure that they are just right for caring for your children. We do not require parents to help in the nurseries but we do encourage them to get involved in some way.
Located just off the sanctuary, you will also find a cry room where parents who wish to worship with their child but wish to remove the disruption to those around them during the service are able to go if they choose. This room is also equipped with a nursing station for mothers who need to nurse their child.
