This week, we received news that someone who attended worship with us on Sunday, August 2, later tested positive for COVID-19.
In order to help slow the spread of infection, all in-person Peace Church activities will be cancelled or postponed through August 15, including worship services this Sunday (8/9). During this period, the Peace Church campus and offices will be closed. Staff will work remotely. Worship services will take place via livestream on Sunday at 9am & 10:30am and are accessible via Facebook, YouTube, and peacechurch.cc/livestream. During this time, the church campus will be cleaned and sanitized.
The local health department has communicated to us that they will be conducting contact tracing and contacting any individuals who may have been exposed to the virus.
Please pray for our brother or sister who has tested positive for the virus. Please pray for all who may have been exposed. Pray for healing, protection, and for the peace of Christ. Please also feel free to reach out with specific prayer requests to peacechurch.cc/prayer.
Summer Jam is cancelled…but our mission isn’t!
Due to the most recent executive order which limits outdoor gatherings to 100 people or less, we will be unable to host Summer Jam on August 8.
This news breaks our hearts, but we remain as committed as ever to reaching families in our community with the love of Jesus. We are still members of the Church, and our mission still stands!
We sincerely apologize for yet another change of plans for you and your family. We know that things on your calendar have slowly been erased as this virus continues to impact our state and our world.
We thank everyone that has worked hard to make this a safe and fun event for our community. Your work does not go unnoticed. Our Children’s Ministry Director Laura Hess along with her assistant Amy Hoek have put in countless hours for this event, ensuring that every detail is in place. Our other ministry leaders and pastors have also dedicated significant time into preparing for an “all hands on deck” evening. In addition, various members of our community have poured into this event in various ways. Again, we thank you all for what you have done for this event. Your work assures us that we will still effectively reach our families with the gospel and can put on a truly unforgettable event with the help of our team.
We are hoping for an opportunity soon to host a fun event like this, but in this moment are praying for those affected by COVID19.
